Preparing your submission

1. Length and Typing

The total character count for the entire manuscript, including the title page, abstracts in three languages (English, Russian and Ukrainian), tables, figure legends, and references) of an article should not exceed 13 pages (27000 characters including spaces).
The materials should be submitted in the Microsoft Word-supported format (preferably version 2003), page size of A4, book-oriented with margins of: top — 2.5, bottom — 3.5, left — 3, right — 2 cm, font — Times New Roman 11 pt, 1.0 spacing.

2. Manuscript Structure

The structure of the submitted article should conform to an acceptable format of "standard sections". Significant departures in structure should be made only if they significantly improve clarity or conform to a discipline-specific custom.

2.1. Manuscript should consist of the following subdivisions:

— Title page,
— Structured Abstract,
— Introduction,
— Literature review (Analysis of recent research and publications),
— Main Body,
— Results and Discussion,
— Conclusions
— Acknowledgements, Funding,
— References.

2.1.1. Title page:

— UDC (Universal Decimal Classification);
— Authors: family names and initials of all authors;
— Author affiliation: Institution and complete address with the postal code for each author;
— E-mail address of corresponding author;
— Title.

2.1.2. Structured Abstract

Abstract of an article should be subdivided into

— Aim,
— Methods,
— Results,
— Conclusions.

The total character count should not exceed 1500 characters including spaces, the title of an article, first and last names of all authors and the keywords (no more than 7).

2.2. Units, Symbols, Mathematics, Abbreviations

Where possible and appropriate, use the International System of Units.
Use discipline specific (non-SI) units only where they are widely adopted within the field.
Symbols should be used in lieu of abbreviations for mathematical expressions & defined at first use.

2.3. Figures

Digital images (figures and schemes) must be at a minimum resolution of 600 dpi for line drawings and 300 dpi for color or grayscale.
Only PCX, TIFF, GIF, BMP, JPEG file formats are acceptable.
Also use of figures and diagrams in the form of Microsoft Excel or Microsoft Word objects is allowed.
All the voluminous inscriptions on the figures must be replaced by numbers or lettering and their descriptions must be put into the captions.
All figure captions are made using Times New Roman font.
The abscissa and ordinate should be clearly labeled with appropriately sized type, and units of measurement must be given.
Text for figure legends should be provided separately from figures.
Failure to comply with these specifications will delay publication!

2.4. Equations

Equations should be specially prepared in MS Equation 1.0-3.0 (Times New Roman, 11 pt; large index – 7 pt; small index  – 6 pt; large symbol – 14 pt; small symbol – 10 pt; variables – italic; matrix – bold vector; line spacing – 150 %).

2.5. Tables

All tables are to be numbered using Arabic numerals.
Tables should always be cited in text in consecutive numerical order.
For each table, please supply a table caption (title) explaining the components of the table.

3. References

Reference citations in the text should be identified by numbers in square brackets.
The list of references should only include works that are cited in the text and that have been published or accepted for publication. Personal communications and unpublished works should only be mentioned in the text. Do not use footnotes or endnotes as a substitute for a reference list.

Submission procedure

In order to register an article the following set of documents is required:
1. Documents are provided in written form via post:

— A manuscript numbered from the first to the last page and signed by all authors (including tables and figures);

2. The following documents are provided via e-mail (pratsi.opu@gmail.com) or on CD/DVD:

— Manuscript identical to that provided in a written form (authors_name.doc);
— Files with color and black-and-white illustrations in one of the standard graphic formats (PCX, TIFF, GIF, BMP, JPEG etc) (600 dpi resolutions);
— Family names, first names and patronymics of all authors and full postal addresses of their institution should be given, including post codes, in English and Ukrainian languages (authors.doc). The corresponding author/s should be indicated, including their e-mail address, telephone and fax numbers.
