Maksimov Maksim V.

Biography

Маksim Vitaliyevich Маksimov, D. Sc. (engineering), professor, Head of the heat-and-power engineering processes automation chair, scientific director of the “Atomspetsavtomatika” R&D Lab., the Odessa National Polytechnic University.

М.V. Маksimov has developed and implemented science intensive  control and diagnostic systems for nuclear power plants (NPP) with WWER-1000 in order to increase the NPP efficiency, nuclear safety and reliability.

Among his pupils there are 5 Doctors of Philosophy (eng.) and 2 Doctors of Science (eng.). Hehas published more than 150 scientific articles and 5 monographs (co-author or scientific editor). His scientific school develops models and methods formalizing the running regime dependence of NPP operation reliability and efficiency, as well as influence of the coolant parameters on the fuel cladding reliability and durability.

Also he studies the methods of nuclear fuel burnup instrument inspection on the basis of fission products fuel assembly (FA) volume distribution reconstruction using the reconstructive algebraic tomography.

Presently М.V. Маksimov carries out investigations on:

— The WWER-1000 FA  resource management for different loading conditions;

— Studying methods and models for radiation-process inspection of the safety barriers state;

—  Modelling and analysis of heat-generating equipment operating with two-phase flows.
