Biography

Prof. Leonid M. Lyubchyk, Head of Computer Mathematics & Mathematical Modeling Department  at the National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute”.

L. М. Lyubchyk in 1973 graduated from the Kharkiv Politechnic Institute and in 1976 completed  the Ph.D. studies at the Institute of Control Electronics (Moscow). Beginning from  1980 is employed by the National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute”.  Ph.D. (Engineering) - 1980, Dr. Eng.  - 1995, Professor - 1998. His scientific special domain relates to the Theory and methods of automated control and mathematical simulation.

From 1980 to 1995 Prof. Lyubchyk was in charge of a scientific team researching the  problematics  of air-and-spacecraft engines’ units and assemblies automated testing. Those researches’ issues served to awarding in 1997 the Ukraine State Prize to Prof. L.M. Lyubchyk.

In 2001-2005 Prof. L.M. Lyubchyk hold the position of Principal Expert behind the State Scientific-and-Technical Center for Nuclear and Radiation Safety, taking part at the program of Governmental expert Board assesing the new computerised control systems for Ukrainian nuclear power stations.

In 1995 he won the researcher grant of “INCO-COPERNICUS” program, and in 2001 obtained the DAAD fellowship, during 2009 - 2010 period Prof. Lyubchyk performed the shared-contract researcher activities within the «IBM Faculty Award» international scientific grant program.

Beginning from 2002 Prof. L.M. Lyubchyk holds the position of the National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute” Computer Mathematics & Mathematical Modeling Department Chairperson. He is a member of the Ukraine National Committee for Automated Control at the same time that of the New-York Academy of Sciences (USA) and the IEEE International Association
