Fialko Natalia Mikhailivna

Biography

Natalia Mikhailivna Fialko is a leading scientist of Ukraine in the field of  thermal physics and heat-power engineering, specifically in modelling heat processes in power equipment, creating new effective power systems, working out progressive energy-saving technologies.

N.M. Fialko was born in Kiyiv on December 20, 1949. Graduated with honours from the Kiyiv Polytechnic Institute by specialty ”thermal physics” in 1972. Now she works  in the Institute of Technical Thermal Physics (ITTP),  National Academy of Sciences (NAS) of Ukraine, where she has been Head of the Small-Scale Energetics division since 1995. The academic secretary of the ITTP –in 1995–2000. She obtained her Ph.D. (engineering) in 1980, D.Sci. (engineering) – in 1994. N.M. Fialko has been a corresponding member, NAS of Ukraine since 2000, the title of professor – since 2005, the title of «Honoured Science and Engineering Worker of Ukraine» – since 1998.     

Since 2005 N.M. Fialko has been Head of the chair of Heat and Power Engineering Units for Heat and Nuclear Power Plants, the National Technical University of Ukraine  “КPІ”.

Among her pupils there are 7 Doctors of Philosophy and 3 Doctors of  Science. She is the author of more than 390 printed works including 7 monographs, 3 manuals, and above 20 author's certificates and patents.
